SHEET METAL STATUARY, REPROSE & REPOUSSE
H&L has participated in the restoration or reproduction of a number of monumental sheet metal statues, mostly for State Buildings and Court Houses throughout North America. Statuary in this type material is complex to produce, requiring a structural armature covered with hand formed copper sheets produced by hammering into or against forms in a technique known as reprose or repousse. You will see a number of examples, below.
