Built in 1845-48, the cathedral is home to Canada’s largest English-speaking Catholic Diocese. After decades of exposure to the elements, it’s slate and copper roof required replacement, including lead-coated copper roofing, new dormers and steeple restoration with decorative copper ornaments.
Heather & Little carried out complete roofing envelope replacement including air vapour barrier, insulation, and natural slate roofing on this historically important heritage building. For this extensive project, we made use of natural slate tile, 20- and 24-ounce copper sheet, and 6- and 8-pound lead sheet.
